  • About

This soup is a delicacy in the Czech Republic. Traditionally, it would only be made once a year when it was time to slaughter the family pig (most families in rural households would have owned one). The whole family would come together to help, and in return everyone would carry away a share of the day’s produce. Meat from a pig would last the family a long time, and was kept chilled in an enormous storage freezer.
