The most traditional fried bread is spread with lots of garlic and enjoyed with a pint of beer. Here, it is served with pepper, tomatoes and egg, but it also works well as an accompaniment to soup.
Heat 15ml/1 tbsp oil in a pan and cook the onion for 5 minutes, or until softened. Add the tomatoes, pepper and egg, and stir quickly. Cook over gentle heat for 10 minutes.
Slice the pork into thin strips and put into a bowl. Add salt, pepper, 15ml/1 tbsp oil, add the tomato purée and the chilli sauce or chilli powder. Mix well.
