Raisin Streusel Brioche

This is Polish panettone. It puffs up like a cloud yet holds more butter and richness than its weight belies. It’s enjoyed as a teatime snack slathered in cold butter and as a centerpiece bake on a Christmas or Easter table. Make it extra festive and throw in a spoonful of orange zest and a handful of mini dark chocolate chips or cranberries along with the raisins—or stick to the recipe and keep it simple.
