Spiced Meat Rolls

There’s a city in the northwest of Poland, just over the border from Germany, called Szczecin that specializes in paszteciki z Mięsem, savory sausage roll–style filled buns, and when you live in Berlin, like I do, that’s enough reason for a weekend trip. I’ve heard this voyage pooh-poohed by Polish friends who insist Szczecin is culturally just an extension of Germany—after all, it fell within the German border before the war. Though I’m guessing the residents of Szczecin would disagree, an
