Hamantaschen

Hamantaschen are one of the signature cookies of Central and Eastern European Jews. Baked for Purim—the holiday celebrated by retelling of the story of Queen Esther, who saved the Jews from the evil Haman back in ancient Persia—hamantaschen are said to look like Haman’s ears, Haman’s hat, or a vulva, depending on whom you ask.
