Teriyaki means “grilled and glazed” or “pan-fried and glazed”. Teriyaki sauce is very versatile. It can go with almost all kinds of meat and fish. One of the most popular dishes, this sweet and savoury combination is an all-time favourite.

Ingredients

  • Boneless chicken leg 300 g (10½ oz)
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper to taste

Method

  1. Heat all ingredients for teriyaki sauce in a pan. Simmer until the mixture reduces by half. Set aside.
  2. Remove yellow fat from chicken meat. Sprinkle over salt and pepper.
  3. Heat oil in a pan. Pan-fry chicken over medium heat until both sides have browned.
