This is a typical Japanese home-style dish. Grated ginger not only tenderises the meat and removes any pungent smell from pork, it also gives a wonderful taste to the meat. There are no words to describe just how much I love this dish.

Ingredients

  • Ginger juice 1 Tbsp
  • Sake 2 Tbsp
  • Pork loin or shoulder

Method

  1. Mix ginger juice and sake. Marinate pork slices in the mixture for 5 minutes.
  2. Mix all sauce ingredients together. Set aside.
  3. Slice onion very thinly and parallel to the lines so that you get thin strips.
  4. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Stir-fry onion until half translucent. Remove from heat and set aside.
