This is a Western-inspired dish that is popular throughout Japan. Every family has their own recipe and here is my mother’s. Substitute beef with other meats or add herbs and spices to make your own version of this dish.

Method

Prepare potato croquettes. Boil potatoes in water until soft. Drain and mash.
Heat oil or butter in a pan. Stir-fry onion until half translucent. Add beef and stir-fry until cooked. Mix in mashed potatoes, then turn off heat. Add butter and whipping cream while hot. Season with salt and pepper.
Shape 2 patties with the mixture. Coat patties with flour, f
