Ingredients

  • 1 small vanilla bean
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons boiling water
  • 8 ounces (about <

Method

Using a paring knife, split the vanilla bean lengthwise and scrape out the vanilla seeds (the black interior). In a medium bowl, combine the seeds with 2 tablespoons of the boiling water, and then gradually whisk in the sugar until all of the sugar has been incorporated. Add a little more hot water, drop by drop, if the icing seems too thick. Use while still warm.
