The flavors in these spiced donuts are echoed in the sweet apple-cider glaze, making them especially welcome during the apple harvest in autumn. Use the season’s freshly pressed cider in the glaze and accompany the donuts with more cider—even hard cider—to drink.

Ingredients

Method

In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and salt. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer set on low speed (use the paddle attachment for a stand mixer), beat the eggs and sugar until creamy and pale. Add half of the flour mixture and beat just until incorporated. Add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla and beat until well blended. Add the remainin
