  • About

These blueberry-studded, two-bite donut drops are made from a thick batter that, when fried, forms an ultra-crisp crust. A coating of cinnamon-sugar gives them a sweet-spicy finish. Be sure the batter completely covers the blueberries; any exposed berries could dislodge and float in the hot oil.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (10 oz/315 g) all-purpose flour

Method

In a large bowl, sift together the flour, 1 teaspoon of the cinnamon, the baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In another large bowl, whisk together the sour cream, egg, granulated sugar, and vanilla until creamy and pale. Add the flour mixture and, using a large spoon, stir just until incorporated.
