  • 6 slices stale bread
  • 1 cup water
  • 48 oysters in liquid

Method

Place stale bread in bowl. Pour water and oyster liquid over bread. Let soak until bread is very soft.

In heavy pot heat oil. Add the ground chuck, onions, celery, chopped garlic, parsley, and thyme. Mix well, breaking meat up as you stir. Squeeze all liquid from bread. Add bread to meat mixture, pouring in oysters, 1 teaspoon of the salt, and the cayenne pepper. Mix well. Let cook for
