Heat oil in large pot and fry ham for 5 minutes. Add onions, corn, and shelled lima beans; stir well. Add water and cook over medium heat for 10 minutes. Add green peppers, garlic, salt, and white pepper. Stir in okra and tomatoes and let simmer for 20 minutes until okra are tender.
