Hoisin sauce is like a Chinese barbecue sauce and goes perfectly with pork. It is made of fermented soybeans and has the salty-sweet thing going on. This mixture of hoisin sauce with soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and sesame oil is pretty universal and can be used on chicken, shrimp kebabs, ribs, you name it.

Ingredients

  • 4 center-cut, bone-in pork chops, 1½ to 2 inches (4 to 5 cm) thick
  • Salt and freshly ground black peppe

Method

Preheat an outdoor grill to medium.

Generously season each side of the pork chops with salt and pepper. In a bowl, combine the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and sesame oil.
