Spicy, sweet, and savory: what a combo. My friend Keith loves grilled shrimp, so I like to make this dish for him, and I serve it with steamed rice or add it to a salad.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds (910 g; 16- to 20-count) shrimp
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Method

Soak 8 to 10 wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes.

Preheat an outdoor grill to medium-high. Make sure the grates are clean.

Thread the shrimp onto the skewers, using two skewers for each kebab so that they hold securely and are easy to flip while cooking. Use
