The Sichuan province of China is renowned for its spicy dishes because of the abundance of hot chili peppers in the region. This soup is reminiscent of many of the fiery dishes my mom and I tasted on our trips together to Sichuan. You can adjust the heat level by adding more or less red chili pepper.
