  • 175 g/6 oz dark (bittersweet) chocolate, broken into pieces
  • 25 g/1

Method

  1. In a small saucepan, combine all of the ingredients over a low heat and stir until the chocolate and butter have melted. Remove the pan from the heat.
  2. Pour into a heatproof bowl and leave to cool for around 20 minutes, or until the mixture begins to thicken. Use as a filling or topping in your chosen cake recipe, or serve warm as a sauce.
