This recipe can be used to make four individual tartlets or one large one. If making just one large tart, you will need a 20–25 cm (8–10 in) ovenproof frying-pan and for individual tartlets, four 10 cm (4 in) diameter tartlet tins. The advantage of making these into individual tartlets is that their size is perfect for the shape of the fruit. For each tart, three figs are needed to cover the base.
