Method

Melt the butter in a deep frying pan or skillet over a low heat. Add half the onions and cook in the butter, stirring constantly. Do not allow the onions to stew in their own juices. When they begin to caramelise (approximately 12 minutes), add the rest of the onions and continue to cook until they are very soft and all the water has left them.

In a separate bowl, mix together the chees
