This is one of my favourite desserts – the lingering gentle heat of pepper offers a surprise element that works like magic with the strawberries. In London, we used the Mara des Bois strawberries when they were in season towards the end of summer. To my mind, they are a strawberry that has no equal – red and juicy right the way through.
