Falling somewhere between a traditional sangria and a mulled wine, this jewel-toned pitcher drink is a wonderful centerpiece for a fall or holiday gathering. It is sweet, tart, spicy, and earthy all at once—the perfect foil for a robust charcuterie plate.

Ingredients

  • 1 mandarin orange or clementine
  • 1 cup [140 g] fresh cranberries

Method

Using a large, very sharp knife, slice the rind off the orange in strips, avoiding as much of the pith as possible. Cut the rind into long strips. Peel or slice off as much of the remaining pith from the fruit as you can and dice the flesh.
