Sweet-and-Sour Beef Hand Pies

A bit of pomegranate molasses and warm spices in the meat mixture give these little pockets a wonderful sweet/sour tang that is especially appealing to kids. They are as perfect in a lunchbox as they are in a picnic hamper, and they freeze well, too, so you can defrost one or more in the fridge overnight for a grab-and-go the next day. When my kids were little, they would often pack up a few extras to share with friends.
