Once you get in the habit of making tapenade, you will wonder how you ever got along without it—it’s that versatile. Spread it on crostini or serve with cheese and crackers for instant cocktail nibbles; give a salad or pasta dish a savory flavor boost; or do as my husband does and scoop it up with pita chips for a quick snack. I make both black and green tapenade year-round, sometimes throwing in minced sun-dried tomatoes or roasted peppers along with whatever herbs are growing in my garden
