  • About

Though the flavor is subtle, date syrup gives these brownies exceptional depth of flavor without a lot of extra sweetness for a best-of-class version. These are as rich as they come, so I cut them into very small pieces, but that’s your call!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup [220 g] (2 sticks) plus 2 Tbsp unsalted butter

Method

Preheat the oven to 350°F [180°C]. Grease a 9 in [23 cm] square baking pan, then line it with a strip of parchment paper, allowing two long ends to drape over the sides of the pan (this will help you lift out the brownies when they are done).

Combine the 1 cup [220 g] of butter
