A homemade tomato sauce is much more nutritious than most bought varieties. This recipe makes a pretty decent-sized batch as it is best to make plenty so you can store some in the fridge to use during the week and keep the rest in the freezer for later use. Use for stirring into pasta, to top pizza bases, for pasta bakes/lasagne or spooned over cooked fish, meat or roasted veg. Or loosen it with some vegetable stock to make a soup.
