I’d say this is the best cake to serve for anyone who favours savoury over sweet, like Olly my son. He’s not one for desserts but this cake he’ll ask for more of every time it’s made. I think it’s the tartness from the apple, warmth from the cinnamon and slight crunch of polenta.
