The Australians are so obsessed with barbecues that dotted around in the gardens of the Fitzroy Crossing Motel are about fifteen of them just so that people using the swimming pool or the recreational facilities can cook their own meal.

Again, this is the type of barbecue with a solid sheet-steel top with shelving underneath to pile the logs on. You don’t find many charcoal brickettes in Australia, I am happy to say; it is much more the tradition of gathering up old wood.
