The bamboo satay sticks needed for this recipe can be bought from good cookshops. Soaking them in water first prevents them from burning.

Ingredients

  • 450 g (1 lb) rump steak, cut into very thin strips
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

Method

Mix together the steak, soy sauce and sesame oil in a large bowl (not aluminium) and leave to marinate for 15 minutes or so. Soak about a dozen bamboo satay sticks in water.
