  • 100 ml/ fl oz white rice vinegar or white wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon


  1. Mix all the ingredients except the cornflour and pineapple in a small stainless steel saucepan (don’t use an aluminium pan) and bring to the boil.
  2. Remove from the heat and immediately pour in the cornflour mixture to thicken, then add the pineapple. This sauce can be used hot or cold.
