Make this 2 to 3 weeks ahead so it can mellow. Serve this in slivers, not slices, as it is very rich. Oddly, plum pudding rarely contains plums!

Steel Blade: Tear bread in chunks. Process until fine crumbs are formed, about 20 seconds. Transfer to large mixing bowl. Chop nuts coarsely, using 6 to 8 on/off pulses.
