This is a family recipe, our favorite way of adding flavor to cooked rice by pouring spice-infused butter (jhanne) over the rice just before serving it. Traditionally, homemade clarified butter (gheu) is melted and added to the rice directly on the individual plates before serving. The spices listed below are the most commonly used. However, each family has their own spice blend. Sometimes a fried egg is served on top of the rice.
