Here is a delicious, rich, and filling daal prepared from whole urad and mung beans. This dish tastes even better the next day, as the aromatic spices gently infuse the daal, adding more flavor.

Ingredients

  • cups whole black urad beans (singo maas ko daal)
  • ½ cup whole green mung beans (singo moong ko daal)

Combine the urad beans, mung beans, garlic, ginger, coriander, salt, turmeric, cassia leaves, and 6 cups of water in a deep, heavy pot.
