Gwaramari is a smooth, fluffy, soft and deep-fried bread that goes very well with a warm milky cup of morning tea. These round breads are a very popular Newari breakfast dish. “Gwaramari” literally means “a round bread” in the Newari language. If you are walking around Kathmandu valley during morning hours, you will see every local haluwai pasal (sweet shop) and street food vendors busy preparing and serving piping hot gwaramari bread.
