This refreshing drink is served any time of the day throughout the year. It is prepared by boiling fresh ginger, lemon juice, and water.


  • ¼ cup fresh lemon or lime juice
  • 1 (½-inch) piece fresh ginger, peeled


In a saucepan, bring 6 cups of water to a rolling boil over high heat. Add the lemon juice, ginger, and sugar, and reduce the heat to low.
