I was inspired to make this recipe from a seventeenth-century Safavid cookbook.

  1. In a mixing bowl combine all the ingredients for the meatballs. Knead lightly and with moistened hands shape into hazelnut-sized meatballs. Place on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper.
