Wash the oranges. Peel thin layers with a peeler and leave a little pith on the orange. Save the oranges for a fruit salad.
Cut the orange peel into slivers of desired length.
Place the slivers in a large saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and cook for 10 minutes over medium heat. Drain in a colander and rinse with cold water
