Brotzeit (literally ‘bread time’) is a Bavarian expression, and this meal includes some specialities of the region, such as obazta, a mixture of ripe Camembert, butter and onion. Serve on large wooden boards.
To make the obatza, mash the Camembert with a fork and stir in the onion, butter and cream cheese. Season the mixture to taste with paprika, caraway, salt and pepper, stir in the beer and turn into a small bowl. To make the salad, grate the radish into a bowl. Whisk together the oil and vinegar, season to taste and pour the dressing over the radish. Toss thoroughly.
