This is a traditional recipe for the winter, when apples were once the only fresh fruits available and cooks needed to be really creative to find different ways to serve them. It’s a comforting hot dessert: when you eat it you won’t mind at all that the range of local fruit is so small at this time of year.

  • 10 ml/2 tsp
