  • About

Low voices murmur the ancient incantation whilst blue flames dance over a terracotta pot of the locally distilled grape spirit, aguardiente de orujo. Celtic ritual and sorcery lives on in the misty hills of Galicia and the queimada is a purifying draft, guaranteed to ward off evil spirits and put hairs on your chest too. The queimada is traditionally prepared out of doors in the eerie glow of a full moon but a candlelit room will set the scene too.
