I first fell in love with the chocolate-hazelnut flavor combination while studying art in Italy for a year in college. I ate a lot of gianduia gelato that year! I also discovered Nutella then and now whenever I taste it, I am immediately transported back. I usually only bake if the recipe is very simple, so this dessert fits the bill with only 5 ingredients.


Mix in a bowl

  • 1 c (240 ml) Nutella
  • ½ c (65 g) flour
  • 2 eggs


Spoon the batter into 4 oiled (3½-in/9-cm) ramekins & bake for 18 min at 350°F (175°C). They should be just a bit molten in the middle. Allow them to cool for a minute then top each with a dollop of Nutella, a sprinkling of chopped hazelnuts & a pinch of flaky Maldon or kosher sea salt.
