When in Italy, one of my favorite ways to end a meal is with affogato, a shot of espresso poured over a scoop of gelato. Be sure to enjoy it right away, before the gelato melts completely. It’s perhaps very American to ask for decaf, and I doubt an Italian would ever add banana, but for me, this is a delicious adaptation.
