This is a great combination of popular flavours — pea and ham, pea and mint. A real winter dish, it can be served as a simple yet effective starter for a dinner party, or as a hearty main course if you make the tortellini a little bigger and serve the soup with some warm crusty bread. Frozen peas are a good substitute for fresh when out of season and will help simplify the preparation of this recipe.
