  • About

This drink is inspired by a category of cocktails referred to as smashes. The thing I love about it is that you can use any berries you have on hand—strawberries, blueberries, or whichever you prefer. It’s a really great way to use up old fruit just before it goes bad.

Ingredients

  • 5 blackberries
  • 5 to 7 mint leaves
  • 3 Lemon wedges
  • ¾

Method

In a cocktail shaker, muddle the blackberries, mint, lemon wedges, and simple syrup. Add ice and shake until chilled. Pour into a lowball glass. Top with the sparkling water and serve.
