In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add the sugar, water, cranberries, allspice, cinnamon sticks, and orange peel and bring to a low boil. Once boiling, turn down the heat and let simmer for 15 minutes. Remove from the heat and let cool.
Using a strainer, strain the mixture into a resealable container. Use a spoon to press the juice out of the cranberries and then discard the solids.
