Chocolate sponge layer

  • tbsp (12 g) AP flour
  • 1 tbsp + 1

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C/Gas Mark 4).
  2. To prepare the chocolate sponge layer, draw an 8-in. (20-cm) circle on a sheet of parchment paper, using a pencil. Set it on the baking sheet with the pencil marks underneath.
  3. Sift the flour, corn
