Method
- Peel and core the pears from the base, leaving the stalks attached.
- Place the pears in a saucepan with the prunes and walnuts. Pour in enough red wine to cover them. Add the sugar, cinnamon stick, and bay leaves.
- Heat to a gentle simmer until the sugar dissolves.
