Chanterelle mushrooms are really special. They have a lovely mild flavour and can be picked between late autumn and winter. They generally grow under hardwood and softwood trees, especially in older, moss-rich forests. A word of caution – if you decide to go foraging for them, take someone with you who knows what they are doing, or you might end up feeling a bit more special than you hoped, or very ill. If you are in any doubt at all, please don’t eat them – you can buy beautiful chanterell
