Prepare your mise en place.
Combine the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Set aside.
Heat the butter in a large sauté pan over medium heat. Add the apples, followed by the sugar and cinnamon mixture. Lower the heat and sauté for about 7 minutes or until the apples are nicely browned. If the apples brown too quickly or if the pan seems dry, add a bit of apple cider or ju
