This homemade granola is much cheaper and healthier than the shop-bought stuff which is often loaded with sugar. You can flavour it to your own tastes – my kids love this chocolate version! It fills a really big jar, keeps for a couple of weeks, and is perfect with milk, added to yoghurt or sprinkling over a smoothie.

Ingredients

  • 120 g mixed nuts (I use cashews, walnuts, pecans and almonds)
  • 220 g rolled oat

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 160°C/140°C Fan/Gas Mark 3 and line 2 large baking trays with baking parchment.
  2. Chop or break the nuts into smaller pieces if making granola for small children. Mix the nuts in a bowl with the oats, desiccated coconut
