Tuna is a brilliant purse-friendly fish and when it’s cooked into meatballs it makes a really delicious family meal. This is a great recipe to try if your kids are not fish fans. Cooking the tuna softens the flavour and serving it up as meatballs with spaghetti makes this dish more recognisable to picky eaters.

Ingredients

  • 1 small carrot, grated
  • 1 small courgette, grated
  • 2 x 160 g tins of tuna in water

Method

  1. Squeeze out as much of the juice from the grated carrot and courgette as possible then put the grated vegetables in a bowl and add the drained tuna, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, spring onion and lemon juice. Season with a little salt and pepper. Form the mixture into 12 balls and set them aside.
